Troubleshoot your magic link if it doesn’t automatically open the JUNO app.

(lightbulb) Before you begin

Try these basic tips first! If you still have issues, check out the troubleshooting steps below.

  • Download the app if you haven’t already.

  • Open the app to make sure it’s installed correctly. You will see the JUNO logo.

  • Open the magic link email from your mobile device, not your desktop computer.

  • Log out of any VPN on your mobile device. (See instructions for Android and iOS.)

  • Open the email that contains the most recent magic link. (If you requested a new one.)

  • Tap the link. Do not copy and paste it into your browser.

Sometimes the magic link opens in your mobile internet browser instead of the JUNO app. This issue can be caused by an older operating system or your device’s setup.

As a workaround, you can force it to open in the app. For a long-term solution, you might also choose to update your device’s operating system.

Force the magic link to open in the app

If you have an iOS device (iPhone or iPad)

The magic link works best when Safari is your default browser. Try Solutions 1 and 2 to change your device’s browser settings.

Don’t want to change your device’s settings, or still not working? Try Solutions 3 and 4.

Solution 1: Make Safari your default browser

Skip this solution if your link opens in the Safari browser.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Scroll down and select Safari.

  3. Select Default Browser App. If you don’t see this option, Safari might already be the default.

  4. Select Safari.

Now, try your magic link again:

  1. Open the magic link email on your mobile device.

  2. Select the magic link.

  3. The app automatically opens.

Solution 2: Change your Safari settings

For this solution, Safari must be your default browser.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Scroll down and select Safari.

  3. Under Settings For Websites, select Request Desktop Website.

  4. Turn off the toggle for All Websites. If it was already off, try Solution 3 or 4 below.

Now, try your magic link again:

  1. Open the magic link email on your mobile device.

  2. Select the magic link.

  3. The app automatically opens. From now on, the link should open in the app instead of the browser.

Solution 3: Long-press the link in the Apple Mail app or Safari
  1. Open the app to make sure it is installed.

  2. Open the magic link email on your mobile device. You must use either the Apple Mail app or Safari browser. If you can’t use these, try Solution 4 below.

  3. Press and hold the magic link. A preview appears, with a list of menu items below it.

  4. Select Open in “JUNO“.

  5. The app automatically opens. From now on, the link should open in the app instead of the browser.

Solution 4: Long-press the link in your Notes app

If you can’t use the Mail app or Safari, try pasting the link into Notes.

  1. Open the app to make sure it is installed.

  2. Open the magic link email on your phone.

  3. Press and hold the magic link. A preview appears, with a list of menu items below it.

  4. Select Copy link.

  5. Open your Notes app.

  6. Paste the link into a note.

  7. Press and hold the magic link. A preview appears, with a list of menu items below it.

If you have an Android device

You can change your device settings to allow links to open in an app.

  1. Open your Android settings and search for default apps.

  2. Select Default apps.

  3. Select Opening links.

  4. Turn on the toggle for Open links in apps.

  5. Press and hold the power button to restart your device.

Now, try your magic link again:
